Up to eight players can participate in the multi-player mode through LAN, the Internet, or a modem/serial connection. Although battles are fought in real-time, you can pause the action and provide orders, or you can let the computer choose the outcome. Turn-based and real-time operations are combined in the game. The game has a ton of depth, and a tutorial is included to assist you in learning how to use the extensive menu of control options. There are about 80 different unit kinds available.
Combat, troop building, and resource management are all part of the gameplay, which is geared toward letting you control more territory.
